Monthly Salary / Pay Scale

• Stringers:
  • Rs. 1,500/- per local coverage (duration less than 6 hours, inclusive of transportation and delivery charges).
  • Rs. 1,000/- for second local coverage when duration exceeds 6 hours or locations are apart by more than 10 km.
  • Rs. 1,800/- per outstation coverage (beyond district headquarters, inclusive of transportation and delivery charges).
  • Payments are on per coverage basis irrespective of length of footage or its usage.

Other Relevant Details

• District Basis: Applicants must mention the district for empanelment and be based there. The key person for stringership must be clearly mentioned and must be working and continue to be in the applied district once selected.
• Role Expectations: Empanelled Stringers are expected to cover news, short features on current affairs, sports, business, and other subjects, and alert RNU on major news or breaking stories.
• Application Submission: Applications should be submitted in a sealed cover with superscription “Empanelment of Stringers of DD News-2026”.
• Required Documents: Proof in duplicate of Academic and Technical Qualifications, Experience, and Equipment ownership must be submitted in the model form provided. Separate annexures can be given along with the application detailing experience or qualification.

• Panel Revision: The panel of Stringers shall be revised every two years.
• Removal from Panel: Stringers will be removed from the panel for reasons such as refusal to cover assignments, poor content or technical quality, delay in coverage, subcontracting work, cartel operations, incorrect information, or any act causing embarrassment to Prasar Bharati.
• How to Apply:
  1. Download and fill the prescribed Application Form for Empanelment as Stringer (Annexure-A) from the notification.
  2. Provide details such as district headquarters for empanelment, personal particulars, academic qualifications, technical qualifications, experience, equipment and facilities, and corporate status.
  3. Enclose attested copies of certificates supporting qualifications, experience, and equipment ownership.
  4. Attach a Demand Draft of Rs. 1,180/- (inclusive of GST) towards non-refundable processing fee, drawn in favour of “DDO/ DDK, Vijayawada” payable at Vijayawada.
  5. Submit the completed application in triplicate in a sealed cover with superscription “Empanelment of Stringers of DD News-2026”.
  6. Send the application to: The Head of News, Regional News Unit, Doordarshan Kendra, Punnamathota, Opp; TTD Kalyanamadapam, Vijayawada – 520010, Andhra Pradesh, on or before 20 February 2026 till 5 PM.
