• Jail Warder: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000/- per month (Pay Band No.2) + Grade Pay ₹5,200/-

Other Relevant Details

• Physical Efficiency Test (PET) - 40 Marks:
  • Male Candidates: Race (1600 meters in 450 seconds/7.5 minutes), Long Jump (Minimum 335 cm).
  • Female Candidates: Race (800 meters in 240 seconds/4 minutes), Long Jump (Minimum 244 cm).
• Medical Examination: Conducted after PET by Medical & Health Officer as per medical standards.
• Physical Standard Test (PST) - Qualifying:
  • Height: Male (General/OBC/MOBC/SC): 162.5 cm; Male (ST P/ST H): 160 cm; Female (General/OBC/MOBC/SC): 144.5 cm; Female (ST P/ST H): 142 cm.
  • Chest (Male Only): Not less than 81 cm when deflated.
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
  • Medical Standards: Sound health, free from organic defects, good mental/bodily health, no physical deformities, no diabetes/heart disease/hernia/piles/respiratory diseases/knock-knee/flat foot, not color blind/squint eyed. Eyesight: Distance vision 6/6 for one eye, not poorer than 6/9 for other without correction.
• Written Test - 50 Marks: 100 multiple choice questions (0.5 marks each), no negative marking. Subjects: Elementary Arithmetic, General English, Logical reasoning/Mental ability, Assam's History, Geography, Polity, Economy, General Awareness/GK and current affairs.
• Oral/Viva Voce - 5 Marks: Candidates shortlisted 2 times the number of vacancies based on PET & Written Test marks.
• NCC Weightage - Maximum 5 Marks: 'C' Certificate: 5 marks, 'B' Certificate: 3 marks, 'A' Certificate: 2 marks.
• Final Merit Calculation - Total 100 Marks: PET (40) + Written Test (50) + NCC (5) + Oral/Viva Voce (5).
• General Information: Applicant must be a Citizen of India and Permanent Resident of Assam. Must be registered with a local Employment Exchange in Assam and speak Assamese or any other State language fluently. Vacancies are tentative. Incomplete/defective/invalid applications will be rejected. No TA/DA. Final appointment subject to Police Verification and Medical Examination. Appointees must serve minimum 3 years or refund training costs. Canvassing leads to immediate disqualification.
