Other Relevant Details

• General Qualification Terms: Qualifications and other terms are as specified under Schedule ‘E’ of NIT Statutes (Amended 2017) and subsequent guidelines from MoE, Government of India.
• First Class Definition: If first class is not explicitly mentioned, candidates should have secured at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% marks in aggregate.
• Desirable Criteria for Professor (Level 14A): At least 20 papers in SCI/SCIE/SSCI Journals, 3 ongoing/completed externally sponsored research projects AND/OR patent granted, supervised at least 2 Ph.D. completed and 1 ongoing, organized 3 cumulative activities of Conference(s) OR at least 5 days Workshop/STTP/FDP course(s).
• Desirable Criteria for Associate Professor (Level 13A2): At least 10 papers in SCI/SCIE/SSCI Journals, 2 ongoing/completed externally sponsored research projects AND/OR patent granted, supervised at least 1 Ph.D. completed and 1 ongoing, organized 2 cumulative activities of Conference(s) OR at least 5 days Workshop/STTP/FDP course(s).
• Desirable Criteria for Assistant Professor (Level 12): At least 5 papers in SCI/SCIE/SSCI Journals, 1 ongoing/completed externally sponsored research project OR 1 patent granted, supervised at least 1 Ph.D. completed/ongoing, organized 1 Conference OR at least 5 days Workshop/STTP/FDP course.
• Desirable Criteria for Assistant Professor (Level 10): At least 3 papers in SCI/SCIE/SSCI Journals.
• Experience: Experience as per Clarification no. 7, GoI, Ministry of Education, Dated 16 April 2019, acquired in specified institutions will be considered. Less than six months of individual experience will be ignored.
• Administrative Experience: Contributions to Institute/Department Administration must be recommended by the concerned Head and approved by the Head of the Institution.

  • Online applications for which hard copies are not received by the stipulated time will be summarily rejected.
• General Instructions:
  • The Institute reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of vacancies or modify/defer/cancel the recruitment process without assigning any reason.
  • Serving faculty of NIT Raipur aspiring for higher Pay levels must submit an application.
  • Financial assistance up to Rs. 1.00 lakh per annum (max Rs. 3.00 lakh in 3 years) under CPDA scheme.
  • Initial Research Grant (Seed Grant) up to Rs. 5.00 Lakh for new Faculty.
  • Provision for undertaking consultancy and testing work.
  • On-campus residence (depending on availability), medical facilities, telephone reimbursement, group insurance, child care leave, children education allowance, maternity/paternity leave, LTC, and HRA as per GoI norms.
  • New entrants will be covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS-2004).
  • Leave will be granted as per CCS Leave Rules, 1972.
  • NOC for outside job can be forwarded only after completion of two years of services.
  • Minimum qualification and experience are governed by Schedule ‘E’ of NITs Statutes.
  • Eligibility is determined as of the closing date of online application submission (17 February 2026).
  • Candidates obtaining their most recent Degree (Ph.D.) from NIT Raipur will not be considered for recruitment unless there is a 3-year gap between leaving the Institute and the last date of online application submission.
  • Government of India reservation norms are followed. Reserved candidates must submit Caste/Category certificates in prescribed formats (OBC-NCL certificate issued on or after 01 April 2025; EWS certificate issued on or after 01 April 2025 – Note: EWS NOT APPLICABLE IN THIS ADVERTISEMENT).
  • Legal disputes will be restricted to the jurisdiction of Raipur Courts only.
