• Library Trainee: Rs. 21,000/- per month (stipend)

Other Relevant Details

• Training Duration: Initial training period of one year from the date of joining, extendable for one more year (total up to 2 years) based on performance, fund availability, and Director's approval.
• Leave Entitlements: Casual Leave of 1 day per month (total 12 days per year). Other leave as per norms applicable to training positions of Spices Board/Government guidelines.
• Benefits During Training: Hands-on training in library management and information science, exposure to the functioning of a research library at ICRI, opportunity to work under Spices Board. No accommodation or food facility provided; candidates must arrange their own stay.
• Ineligibility Conditions: Candidates who have previously completed training in any office of the Spices Board; candidates not belonging to SC/ST category; candidates exceeding 30 years of age as on 26 February 2026.
• Documents Required for Walk-in Test:
  • Application Form (Annexure I): Download from Spices Board website or collect at venue, fill completely in own handwriting, ensure signature.
  • Photographs: At least 2-3 recent passport-size colour photographs (4x6 cm or 2x2 inches).
  • Original Certificates: Proof of Identity (Voter ID, Aadhaar, PAN, Driving License, Passport), Proof of Age (10th Std Certificate or Birth Certificate), Educational Certificates (M.Lib / M.Sc Library Science degree & mark sheets), Caste Certificate (original SC/ST issued by competent authority).
  • Self-Attested Photocopies: One complete set of self-attested photocopies of all above documents, stapled together with the filled application form. Candidate must sign on each photocopy.
• Training Terms & Conditions: Training location is fixed at Indian Cardamom Research Institute, Myladumpara, Idukki, Kerala. No transfer or relocation. This is a training position only and does not confer any right for permanent employment.
• Selection Process Details: Candidates must report well before 10:30 AM on 26 February 2026 for registration and document verification. A walk-in test/interview will be conducted on the same day. Merit-based selection will be made among eligible candidates who qualify. A rank list, valid for 2 years, will be prepared.
• Test Location & Travel: The venue is Indian Cardamom Research Institute, Myladumpara, Idukki, Kerala. Candidates must arrange their own travel and accommodation at their own cost (no TA/DA provided).
