• Professor: Pay Level 14A of Pay Matrix (7th CPC)

• Vacancy Details: Vacancies are department-wise and category-wise (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, UR). Backlog vacancies included (SC-08, ST-08, OBC-26). Nine vacancies reserved for PwBD. Totals may increase/decrease without notification.
• Eligibility Criteria (Detailed):
  • Qualification: First division both in UG and PG mandatory. PhD in relevant or equivalent discipline mandatory for new entrants.
  • Essential Qualification (Engineering Departments): UG and PG in Engineering with PhD in relevant branch OR Integrated UG/PG with PhD OR UG with Integrated PG & PhD. Direct PhD after graduation allowed if B.E./B.Tech or PhD from CFTI.
  • Physics / Chemistry: PhD with BSc/MSc or Integrated MSc with PhD.
  • Mathematics & Computing: Specified combinations of B.Tech/M.Tech or B.Sc/M.Sc with PhD in relevant fields.
  • Humanities & Management: PhD in Management with Bachelor's + MBA/PGDM or integrated Master's.
  • Experience: Considered from fully funded Central Institutions, top NIRF-ranked institutions, state-funded institutions, QS/THE top 500 overseas, PDF (for Assistant Prof Level-12), R&D labs (CSIR/DRDO etc.), or industry (PSU/Private with >Rs.500 Cr turnover).
• General Information / Instructions:
  • All qualifications/experience considered as on closing date.
  • Areas of specialization as per Annexure-I; must be supported by thesis/publications/SCI journals.
  • Existing NIT Jalandhar faculty apply for movement to higher level without vacancy constraint on specialization.
  • No inbreeding: PhD from NIT Jalandhar holders ineligible for 3 years post-PhD.
  • NOC required for serving candidates; existing NITJ faculty exempt.
  • Overseas PDF (1+ year in QS/THE top 500) may get direct call for presentation/interview.
  • Original documents verification at interview.
