Qualification, experience and expertise in cinematography/videography/news gathering/broadcast journalism. Adequate facilities and equipment to undertake coverages (DVC-Pro/DV-CAM/CCD/Mini DV acceptable). Copies of proof of Academic and Technical qualifications, Experience and Equipment ownership to be submitted. |
Monthly Salary / Pay Scale
- Stringer / Cameraman:
- Local Coverage (up to 6 hours): Rs. 1500 per coverage (inclusive of transportation and delivery charges)
- Extended Local Coverage (exceeding 6 hours or locations >10 Kms apart): Treated as two coverages, 2nd coverage paid @ Rs. 1000
- Outstation Coverage (beyond geographic limit of the town of the Kendra): Rs. 1800 irrespective of length of footage or usage (inclusive of transportation and delivery charges)
- Paid irrespective of length of footage or its usage.
Other Relevant Details
- Stringers expected to service news coverages, short features on news, current affairs, sports, business, etc.
- Stringers to provide raw footage, dope sheet, press material, and script for each coverage.
- Panel revised every two years.
- Grounds for Removal from Panel:
- Refusal to cover assigned coverages (two or more occasions).
- Poor content/technical quality.
- Delay in providing coverage.
- Sub-contracting.
- Cartel system.
- Incorrect information.
- Any act causing embarrassment to Prasar Bharati.
- First default communicated in writing for improvement.
- Show Cause Notice issued before removal; appeal to Director General, Doordarshan possible within 30 days.
- Removed Stringers ineligible for empanelment at any other Kendra.
